FlyQuest RED is off to a blazing start in 2025, securing a top-four finish at the Valorant Game Changers NA Kickoff. A quick chat with the current roster reveals that milestones like these don’t just happen overnight.
2024 was a landmark year for women in Valorant esports, headlined by Shopify Rebellion GC claiming the VCT Game Changers Championship, a redemption arc after falling just short in 2023. Evil Geniuses GC also made waves with a deep run in the NA circuit, turning heads with bold plays and clutch performances under coach KingFred. Meanwhile, FlyQuest RED rebuilt their roster throughout the year, adding key players like Theia and sonder, and closed out 2024 as rising contenders—setting the stage for their strong 2025 debut. And all of it is paying off.
FlyQuest RED has kicked off 2025 with serious momentum, cementing their place on the competitive Valorant map. With fresh faces on the roster, the team stormed into the VCT Game Changers qualifiers, opening with a dominant win over Team Aquila. Their momentum didn’t stop there—FlyQuest made quick work of Berzerkers, punching their ticket to VCT 2025: Game Changers North America Stage 1. The spotlight shone brightest on newcomer Diana “sonder” Zhang, who dropped a staggering 202 ADR, while Aluvily’s lockdown Sentinel play provided the backbone for their crushing victory.
Raidiant was fortunate enough to get a chance to chat with the team’s newest member Aluvily regarding their recent success, roster chemistry, and what it truly takes to compete at the top level of women’s Valorant.
Interview with FLYQUEST RED’s Aluvily
Securing a spot at VCT 2025: Game Changers North America Stage 1 is was expected, but surely a relief to secure the spot after the first Open Qualifier. What has the team been doing in the meantime to prep for the first ever GC Swiss Stage?
Aluvily: We’ve practiced non-stop for the most part, but we also played a lot of different games in our spare time for team chemistry as well
You came out swinging in qualifiers. What clicked early on that told you this roster was ready to make noise?
Aluvily: We all have similar personalities, which may be the obvious answer to say, but it wasn’t chemistry because we had none of that at the time. We all clicked as people to make it work.
FlyQuest RED has seen its fair share of changes lately, and for a while, that meant its personality, strengths, and identity were all in flux. But now, the team seems to have hit a point where it knows exactly who it is. When asked to sum it up in three words, Aluvily didn’t hesitate: Strong. Driven. Resilient.
That said, while FlyQuest RED embodies every version of strength you can think of—they still know how to have fun.
What’s one small habit or routine your team does that outsiders wouldn’t expect, but makes a huge difference on match day?
Aluvily: We play codenames.
FlyQuest RED has been a dominant force so far—what’s one aspect of your game that you feel is still underdeveloped and needs more attention?
Aluvily: Definitely our teamwork/time together, because none of us have really played together besides evv & theia. Our teamwork is something that really needs time to grow and flourish.
Every roster has that one player who keeps the mental in check. Who’s the rock in high-stress moments?
Aluvily: Theia is definitely the rock in the force when something doesn’t go our way or there’s tension from a round we should’ve won. She’s the first one to say something to make sure we just focus on the next round.
What do you believe sets this roster apart from previous lineups, and how has the current mix of players made FlyQuest RED more formidable this season?
Aluvily: I think Bob really makes the team different from the previous Flyquest Red players. The only new additions that aren’t from previous lineups are Bob & I and I think we bring a new perspective to the team because we have a different outlook on the game than the previous rosters.
With so many strong teams in the Game Changers scene, is there one specific team you see as a major threat this season?
Aluvily: I think all of our individual skills are still good enough to make a high impact in GC, even without all the other key components we’re all so talented individually.
