The Milk Cup: Winter Split was a thrilling competition, and when the dust settled, one duo stood tall: XSET Nina and Vader! After months of hard work, preparation, and practice, they took home the trophy, proving they’re one of the most dominant duos in the scene. They were followed by Regsita and Moxie, who later, with Dieyuhs, lifted the trophy for the Milk Cup LAN.

We had the chance to sit down with Nina, one of the top players in the competitive Fortnite scene, to get a bit of her thoughts on the tournament, her journey, and what’s next for her in esports.
Congrats on the big win at The Milk Cup: Winter Split! How does it feel to take home the win?
Nina: It feels amazing! After months of grinding with Vader, who’s honestly the best teammate ever, it’s so rewarding to take home the win. We’ve been putting in the work to prove that we’re one of the best duos out there, and it feels so good to see it pay off.
Can you tell us what was going through your mind in those final moments of the tournament?
Nina: The final moments were definitely a rollercoaster! In the last game, we died pretty early, and I was super stressed because it looked like four teams could pass us in points. But luckily, all the other teams ended up dying early enough not to catch up to us. It was honestly a mix of stress and then pure happiness and relief when we realized we had done it!
What was your highlight of the tournament? Was there a specific match, play, or moment that took your breath away?
Nina: My favorite moment would have to be when Vader and I went back-to-back after we promised ourselves that we were going to lock in and win this cup. We had been practicing so hard, and it all clicked. We decided to switch up our landing spot because it wasn’t working for us anymore, and that decision totally turned things around. It felt like a game-changer!
How did you and Vader prepare for The Milk Cup? Were there any specific strategies or preparations?
Nina: Vader and I practiced non-stop leading up to the tournament. We scrimmed every chance we got—whether it was in my server or others. It was all about building chemistry and making sure we were ready for anything that could come our way.

Can you share a little about how you got started in gaming and what made or inspired you to go pro?
Nina: I’ve been gaming since I was little. My dad gave me a computer to play on, and even though it wasn’t the best, I loved it! I started with League of Legends and later moved to Fortnite. I didn’t really think about going pro at first, but my friends convinced me to try out Girl Competitive, and once I started, I saw the opportunity and just ran with it!
What’s been the biggest challenge you’ve faced in your journey so far? How did you overcome it?
Nina: The biggest challenge for me was during this very tournament. We were facing issues we’d never encountered before despite having perfect practice leading up to it. But Vader and I stuck together, figured out the issues mid-tournament, and turned it around. It taught me how important it is to stay calm and adapt in the heat of the moment.
As a woman in esports, what’s the most important advice you want to share with those dreaming of making it in this industry?
Nina: My advice is simple—stay determined and put your mind to it! If you’re not willing to put in the work, the results won’t follow. I realized that last year while competing in two Milk Cups, and that’s when everything clicked for me. It’s all about dedication and grinding for what you want.
How much does your community’s support help keep you motivated and focused? Do you have any special shoutouts or messages you’d like to share?
Nina: My community is everything to me. Their support keeps me focused and motivated, especially in high-pressure moments. Having so many people cheering me on in chat made me want to give my absolute best during the cup. Huge shoutout to my entire community—those were definitely some of the best moments of my life, and I couldn’t have done it without them!

As Nina keeps leveling up in the competitive Fortnite scene, it’s obvious that she’s just getting started. With an amazing community cheering her on and a ton of hard work, big things are definitely ahead for her. For anyone looking to make it in esports, Nina’s journey shows that everything is possible with determination, preparation, and a great teammate by your side!
