Raidiant Academy 204 Grand Finals kicked off this September in what was another heated competition. The competition consisted of 8 single-round robin groups of 3 / 4 teams each. All matches were best-of-one, and the top two teams advanced to the Playoffs. In the Playoffs, the rounds were composed of a sixteen-team single-elimination bracket. All matches were best of three. Here is a look at how the competition played out.
Group Stage
The group stage consisted of 8 single-round-robin groups of 3 to 4 teams. In group A were tour de force, T2G Midnight, and Momentum Esports. Tour de force and T2G Midnight would be the ones moving on. From group B, Truly Humble Under God and performative matcha seaside would beat out Kinetic to make it to the playoffs. Rivals jeff one tricks, and PAWSOME would overtake Elation GC in group C, and Nully’s Number Noobs and 😀 would beat out Slestric GC and Exolved GC in Group D.
Groups E, F, G, and H would see the advancement of swiftplay success stories, earth, wind, and rina; Sausage Party, Start with Pistol, RAIN EFFECTS, Alliance Angels, cant think of names, and furry and friends.
Top 16
These teams made it through the group stage and were ready for the Playoffs! All matches in the Playoffs were best-of-3 in a single-elimination bracket. Most teams in the top sixteen would take their opponents by 2-0, sliding into the top eight. Tour de force, RAIN EFFECTS, rivals jeff one trick, swiftplay success stories, Truly Humble Under God, cant think of names, and Sausage Party were all victorious in 2-0 battles that earned them a spot in the top eight. The last team to make it to the top eight was earth, wind, and rina who battled it out against Nully’s Number Noobs. It came down to the wire! Both teams had a win on the board, but it would ultimately be earth, wind, and rina who would claim that final spot.
Quarterfinals
The quarterfinals saw our top eight pitted against each other. Tour de force went against RAIN EFFECTS in the opening match. Tour de force would move on after dominating both matches at Bind and Corrode. Rivals jeff one trick would go up against swiftplay success stories in the next head-to-head. Their first match at Sunset would see swiftplay success stories persevere. However, rivals jeff one trick would come back at Haven and Lotus and claim victory to move on to the next round.
Truly humble under god and cant think of names was the next matchup. After victories at both Haven and Lotus, truly humble under god would be the ones moving forward. The final round of the quarterfinals included earth, wind, and rina and Sausage Party. After an exhilarating battle on Abyss and Haven; earth, wind, and rina would be the final team to move on to the semifinals.
Semifinals
We were now down to our top four teams – tour de force, rivals jeff one tricks, truly humble under god, and earth, wind, and rina.
In the first round of the semifinals, tour de force went up against rivals jeff one tricks. It was a heated matchup. Their first match took place on Lotus, and rivals jeff one tricks would come out the gate swinging. They claimed victory in the first round of game 1.
However, that victory would be short-lived as tour de force would go on to win the next six rounds. After that, there was a little bit of back and forth – rivals jeff one trick won two rounds, then tour de force won two. Rivals jeff one trick would win the next four, and all seemed like it was in their favor. However, tour de force was not going down without a fight. They went on to win the next five rounds and secure their win in game 1. Game two played out in a similar fashion. There was a little bit of back and forth in the early rounds, but tour de force would go on a win streak in the later rounds, cementing their victory and their placement in the finals.
Truly Humble Under God and earth, wind, and rina took to the stage next. It was time to decide who would face tour de force in the finals. Truly Humble Under God dominated the first nine rounds of game 1 on Bind. Earth, wind, and rina tried to fight back though. They won the next three rounds, but after a bit of back and forth it was Truly Humble Under God who would ultimately claim victory in game 1. Game 2 took place on Abyss, and Truly Humble Under God once again shutout earth, wind, and rina in a 13-4 victory.
Grand Finals
The stage was set. It was finally time for the grand finals. Who would claim victory, tour de force or Truly Humble Under God? Game 1 took place on Bind. Truly Humble Under God would take an early lead in the first two rounds, but tour de force would quickly close that gap in the next two. Truly Humble Under God would reclaim their lead in rounds five and six, but tour de force would win the next four rounds. They weren’t out of the woods yet, as Truly Humble Under God would make up the difference in rounds eleven and twelve. Going into round 13, it was still anyone’s game. However, the second half of the matches would see Truly Humble Under God dominate. They claimed victory in seven out of the ten remaining matches, scoring an overall 9-13 win in game 1.
Game 2 would see a fire lit under tour de force. They knew if they lost this game, their dreams of victory would be over. They took to Lotus and overwhelmed Truly Humble Under God in a 13-4 decisive victory.
It all came down to game 3 at Haven. Both teams fought hard for that number one spot. Tour de force started off strong with a two-round lead, but after the first 12 rounds, everything was tied up. Back and forth they went, tour de force would win two, then Truly Humble Under God would swiftly close that gap. There was no end in sight! Their battle ran into overtime. It would be here where the victor would be decided. Tour de force knew what they had to do. They claimed victory in both overtime matches and sealed their victory as the Raidiant Academy 2025: 204 champions.
