Team Moxie, consisting of players Moxie, Regsita, and Dieyuhs, has become a standout name in women’s esports. They’ve shown why by dominating the Milk Cup LAN 2024.
The Milk Cup, held at LA Comic Con, was a landmark event featuring a $250,000 prize pool, the largest in North American women’s esports to date. It showcased 33 teams of skilled Fortnite players and celebrated the talent within the women’s Fortnite gaming community.
The Players
- Moxie: With a background in basketball, Moxie was a Call of Duty player who transitioned her competitive spirit to Fortnite, becoming a fantastic player in the game’s esports scene.
- Regsita: She started her gaming journey on mobile because she always thought she had potential. With her father’s help and support, she transitioned to PC gaming and quickly climbed the ranks in Fortnite.
- Dieyuhs: A full-fledged gamer since the age of eight, dieyuhs began with Call of Duty before discovering Fortnite, where she has showcased exceptional skills that have earned her the Milk Cup’s MVP Award.
Road to The Milk Cup
The road to The Milk Cup wasn’t smooth sailing. Team Moxie didn’t have a coach, so everything—from reviewing game footage to coming up with and practicing new strategies—was done by the players themselves. They ran their own training camp.
And it worked! In the online qualifiers, the team was unstoppable, winning Qualifier 1 and locking in the spot for LAN finals. Teamwork and pure grind got Team Moxie through.
Dominating The Milk Cup LAN
The Milk Cup LAN at LA Comic Con 2024 was a game-changer event for women in esports. With a $250,000 prize pool on the line, the competition was no joke. But Team Moxie showed up and dominated. They won three out of the six games, which pretty much sealed their victory before the final round even started.
Watching them play was insane—the teamwork and individual skill were on another level. It wasn’t just a win; it was a statement. The players walked away with a huge share of the prize money, the MVP award for Dieyuhs, and, more importantly, the hard-earned respect of the esports world.
Why this win matters
Team Moxie’s success isn’t just about trophies and prize pools. It’s about representation and breaking down barriers in esports. The Milk Cup was the first LAN of its kind, and Moxie, Regsita, and dieyuhs proved that women can shine on the biggest stages.
Their win is inspiring a new generation of gamers, showing that with hard work, you can compete with the best AND be the best.
The Milk Cup itself stands as a cultural milestone in the push to elevate women in esports. The event was developed in collaboration with women gamers and supported by key figures like Fortnite streamer ThePeachCobbler. Organized by Women of the eRena (WOTE) and produced by Raidiant’s all-women production team with backing from Moonrock, the tournament showcased Gonna Need Milk’s dedication to empowering women athletes and creating opportunities for them to shine.
What’s next for Team Moxie
With the Milk Cup title under its belt, Team Moxie is just getting started. It’s safe to say we’ll be seeing more of this team in future tournaments.
